My First Blog Giveaway!

I’ve been thinking of doing a giveaway for a while. Since we’ve just moved into our new house, it can be thought of as a reverse housewarming gift. I’ve been racking my brain trying to think of what the prize will be.

Then as I saw my daughter toddling around the house with her lovey, it came to me. My first giveaway is the Aden + Anais 2 pack jungle jam swaddle blankets along with the boardbook Chugga Chuga Choo Choo.

I heard about these when I was pregnant but didn’t get them for my daughter until around her first birthday. She was getting too big for her receiving blankets so I decided to give them a try. Needless to say I don’t use these as swaddling blankets. It’s a perfect light blanket for her to use but still warm.

My little girl LOVES these blankets and has several. She usually carries one around the house and cuddles with it, puts it over her head and walks around bumping into things to scare mommy, and sleeps with one. She always ends up laying on top of it while sleeping, her arms wrapped around her lovey. I’ve used them myself and they are very cozy.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo is a book written by Kevin Lewis and has become a favorite in our house. We read this to our daughter almost every night. Hers has a chunk bitten out of it with chew marks all around, it could be looked at as a book and a teether. 🙂 An excerpt from the book is “Sun’s up, Morning’s here, Up and at em’, engineer. Chugga Chugga Choo Choo. Whistle blowing, Whooo Whooo.”

*To enter all you need to do is leave a comment and tell me what your or your child’s favorite lovey or book was/is. There can be 3 entries per person. This giveaway is only available to those in the continental U.S.  The winner will be chosen randomly.

I will contact the winner by email and after the winner responds, I will announce it on my blog. If there isn’t a response within 48 hours from the time I email, another winner will be chosen.

The giveaway starts September 26th at 7 am PST and ends September 29th at 7 pm PST.

Good luck everyone!

**I wasn’t paid to review the above products or host a giveaway. I’m pretty sure my little girl wasn’t either, otherwise she would have eaten the money and I would have seen it in her diaper.

The hummingbird with her lovey.

There was absolutely no posing for this picture whatsoever. Nope, none at all.

    1. Well I think I’ll be the first 😉
My little one doesn’t really have a lovey she uses. She goes from a stuffed animal, to a baby, to a blanket, to a different one all over again! Unless you count her thumb, that’s her go to 😉

    2. Goodnight Moon is the fav around here!

    3. I don’t have children (I’m entering to win this for my sister & her new little girl who will be arriving soon) but I used to read Madeline to my niece all the time and I had it memorized in a week because it’s the only thing she’d want to hear before a nap.

    6. my oldest refused a lovey even though we tried! my second, who is 5, loves his “neenee” which is a little giraffe blanket (a gift–those are SO pricey). our third has one of those minke, soft blankets (the company escapes me now). and now i am a couple of weeks away from having our fourth and have had my eyes on these very blankets you are giving away!
    hope i win…

    7. My youngest son is the only one of my kids who ever got attached to a lovey. It was a flannel blanket and for a long time we had to wash it gently by hand so it didn’t completely disintigrate. I think it was down to about 6″ x 6″ when he finally gave it up.

    9. My oldest had a lovey of “elly” the blue elephant that took a ride off the top of our car. We never could find the right elly to replace him.

The youngest didn’t have any loveys until she got her own cell phone lol.

These would make a wonderful gift for my friend who is expecting surprise twins.

    • Elle September 26, 2010 at 22:10 #

Poor elly the elephant. Your daughter’s lovey made me laugh out loud. Too funny!

    10. I’ve tried giving my girl a billion different toys, books, stuffed animals, and blankets and the only thing she can’t live without is her nuk. She goes to sleep with one in her mouth and one in each hand.

  11. Jana September 26, 2010 at 18:16 #

    11. I’ve slept with my blankie for the past 31 years. I even brought it with me on my honeymoon. I snuggle with it on the couch some nights when it’s chilly, too.

    Congrats on the first giveaway!

  16. Kimberly September 27, 2010 at 08:04 #

  19. Erica September 27, 2010 at 12:36 #

    19. Ooh, I LOVE these blankets! I have some for my Sam.

Maddie has three Winnie the Pooh blankets from Target that are her lovies. Gawd forbid you try to come between her and her “B!”

Sam is only 4.5 months old, but seems to have chosen a little chenille blankie as his lovey. Now I need to get two more of those suckers and get them into rotation. I’ve learned the hard way to always have back-up lovies and they can’t be new!

  24. jennifer September 27, 2010 at 19:46 #

    24. My youngest (twin) daughter had a Precious Moments stuffed parrot. She named him Guy and I swear that was the first word she ever said. She used to hold him in her fingers while she sucked his thumb so his tag rubbed against her cheek. We actually had to take it away from her just last year (she’s 9 now) because the poor thing had been sewn together so many times it was really quite frightening.

  25. jennifer September 27, 2010 at 19:47 #

    25. My middle (twin) daughter has a pink bunny – some stuffed animal found in a walgreens or something at Eastertime. She still has it and likes it only when she really “needs” it.
