A little known fact. I’m a licensed esthetician and have been working on a small scale skin care line for several months. I have all the products tested and ready to go. Body scrub, lip balms, whipped body butter, and bath soak. I thought I would start selling it on Etsy no later than February but that’s not going to happen. I’ll keep you updated on when I’ll actually get it launched.
I really love sugar scrubs but this time I tried a salt body scrub and loved it. You probably have the ingredients in your pantry right now so give it a try. I also made a lip exfoliator with honey and granulated sugar but you can use any sugar you like. If you’re vegan then you can change out the honey with olive oil. Enjoy!
Chocolate Salt Scrub
What you’ll need:
16 ounces epsom salt
1/3 cup light olive oil
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
Put the epsom salt, olive oil, vanilla extract and cocoa powder into a medium bowl. Mix well and make sure to scrape the sides of the bowl.
To apply: While in the shower, scoop the mixture out with your fingers and gently rub onto your skin, making sure to avoid your face. Rinse well. Apply moisurizer after your shower.
Store the salt scrub mixture into an airtight container.
Sugar Mama Lip Exfoliator
What you’ll need:
1 tsp. granulated sugar (or any sugar you prefer)
1 tsp. honey (you can substitute with 1/2 tsp. of olive oil)
Mix the sugar and honey in a small bowl. To apply: use your toothbrush or your fingers and apply to your lips. Gently rub the sugar mama exfoliator onto your lips. Rinse with warm water. Apply lip balm.
Skin care tip: Don’t use a washcloth when washing your face. It can cause tiny tears in your skin. Always use a skin shammy when washing your face, like this one. It’s especially nice for people with sensitive skin.
