Book Review: Full Dark, No Stars

fulldarknostarsFull Dark, No Stars was the very first book I read from Stephen King a few years ago and that’s when I fell in love with his writing. I recently started reading it for the second time and holy shit, I think it’s even better this time around.

It’s super, super, good. Did I mention how great I think this book is?

It has 4 stories:

1922 – This story involves a murder on a farm and comes from the main character’s point of view. Excellent storytelling by Stephen King.

Big Driver – I was immediately sucked into this story about a female author who ends up in hell on earth on the way back from a speaking engagement. She’s assaulted and left for dead. This story is such an incredible piece of writing and my favorite out of the whole book.

Fair Extension – A tale where a man makes a deal with the devil. It’s the shortest story in the book. This is good but didn’t really stand out for me.

A Good Marriage – Holy shit, people! This was such a great read and surprised the hell out of me. With her husband out of town, a wife goes into the garage for some batteries and the secrets of her husband start to unfold. Really, really excellent.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I do.

I love him too! The first book I read by him was “The Dark Half” which was forever ago. I don’t like his movies as much though.

Try Different Seasons. Same format of four stories, all of which are amazing.
