Children’s Book Reviews: Peanut Butter and Jellyfish & A Gift For Mama

I think in all this time that I’ve been reviewing children’s books, I forgot to thank Random House for giving me these books to check out. So, thank you, Random House!

Peanut Butter and Jellyfish

I absolutely love the vibrant illustrations of this book. PB and Jelly are great friends who love playing throughout their ocean home. But there’s one problem. Crabby, who never has anything nice to say.

PB and Jelly try their best to ignore him until one day, when Crabby gets himself in a jam and needs help.

This is a wonderful book for kids that shows it’s never too late to apologize and do the right thing.

A Gift For Mama

Set in Vienna, the story is about a young boy, Oskar, who sets out to find his mother a gift. He doesn’t have much to spend but finds a beautiful yellow rose to give to her.

Things don’t go as planned though, and Oskar keeps coming across others who persuade him to change each gift he finds. In the end, he’s left with nothing.

But the kindness of a little girl changes that.
